3 Ways To Maximize Your Pantry Space

Having an organized pantry space can be a game-changer when it comes to cooking weeknight dinners, packing lunches before work, and putting away several bags full of groceries. We all know how easy it can be for pasta boxes, sauce bottles, small spice containers, and so much more to get shoved to the back of your pantry, and forgotten about for long periods of time. We, at Closet & Storage Concepts, understand the struggle and are here to help! Here are 3 tips to help you and your pantry stay organized.

1. Rotate your products!

Think of your pantry as your own grocery store. When you go to “restock” the shelves, make sure you are placing the product in its designated area. Over time, this will help you develop a habit of replacing things in the same spot over and over again, minimizing the time you will have to spend searching for ingredients. Another way to help keep you organized and ahead of time is to use the “first in, first out” rule. Place all of your newest grocery items behind any existing product on your shelves. Now when you go to reach for something, you will automatically grab the closest and oldest item in the front. By doing this, you’ll technically be cleaning out and organizing your pantry on the daily!

2. Keep commonly used items visible

This goes for those items that you find yourself using on a routine basis. If you are a creature of habit and find yourself starting each day with the same bowl of cereal and ending each evening with the same pasta, this definitely applies to you! Bring those ingredients to the front of the pantry, so you can avoid having to constantly shuffle everything around. The less you shuffle, the less you will move ingredients out of their rightful place.

3. Utilize your cabinet doors

Hang stuff on the backside of your cabinet doors to keep your drawers and shelf space clear of clutter. Measuring spoons and cups are perfect examples of items to hang to avoid a tangled, chaotic mess. Try spatulas, oven mitts, ladles, tongs, or whatever you think would work best to keep your space as tidy as possible!
